Oh Be Careful Little Girl

I have been confronted with some big feelings over the last few weeks. Feelings about who I am. What messages I have received from the world. And as I look at my little girl and other little girls this poem came to me.

Oh be careful Little Girl what you say
Oh be careful Little Girl what you say
For the world is watching now,
wanting to tear down
Oh be careful Little Girl what you say

Be careful Little Girl what you wear
Oh be careful Little Girl what you wear
That necklines far to low,
you'll reap just what you sow
Oh be careful Little Girl what you wear

Be careful Little Girl where you go
Oh be careful Little Girl where you go
Keep the expectations low,
Men don't like the ones who know
Oh be careful Little Girl where you go

Be careful Little Girl what you eat
Oh be careful Little Girl what you eat
Keep your waistline trim and sweet
It's ok to just not eat
Oh be careful Little Girl what you eat

These messages are utter lies. I pray that we each can make a stand against them and live in freedom.
